Engine Monitor
Multi-Function Engine Monitoring System
A dedicated engine monitor replaces individual analog gauges with a single display showing all engine parameters simultaneously. Key readings include exhaust gas temperature (EGT) per cylinder, cylinder head temperature (CHT) per cylinder, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel flow. Having all of this visible at once makes it far easier to catch a developing problem early, such as a single cylinder running hot or an abnormal fuel flow trend.
For students, learning to scan and interpret engine monitor data is a practical skill that carries directly into real-world operations. Schools that run engine monitors on their fleet are generally more proactive about engine health tracking. Instructors who teach normal EGT and CHT scan habits early produce pilots who are better prepared to catch anomalies before they become emergencies.
