Welcome to flightschools.fyi. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the flightschools.fyi website and services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by flightschools.fyi (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using flightschools.fyi in any way (including browsing the site, creating an account, or claiming a flight school profile) you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

flightschools.fyi is an online directory of flight schools in the United States. The Service allows:

• Students and prospective pilots to search, browse, compare, and learn about flight schools, including information about programs, pricing, fleet, and instructor credentials.
• Flight school representatives to claim and manage their school’s profile, add or correct information, and engage with prospective students.

Much of the data displayed on flightschools.fyi is collected through automated and manual means from publicly available sources, including flight school websites, FAA records, and other public databases. We compile, organize, and present this information to help students make informed decisions.

3. User Accounts

Certain features of the Service (including saving schools, accessing personalized search results, or claiming a flight school profile) require you to register for an account.

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Keep your credentials (username and password) secure and confidential.
• Notify us immediately at legal@flightschools.fyi if you believe your account has been compromised.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information, or that are used in violation of these Terms.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Service in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or disruptive. In addition to general prohibited conduct, the following are expressly forbidden:

4a. No Scraping: Strictly Prohibited

You may not scrape, crawl, harvest, extract, or otherwise collect data from flightschools.fyi by any automated or semi-automated means.

This prohibition applies to all users, whether registered or not, and covers all content on the Service, including information that is publicly visible without logging in. Specifically, you may not:

• Use bots, spiders, scrapers, crawlers, or automated scripts to access, retrieve, copy, or index any content from the Service.
• Use browser automation tools (such as Selenium, Playwright, Puppeteer, or similar) to extract data from the Service.
• Use any data mining, harvesting, or extraction software or technique to collect data in bulk from the Service.
• Mirror or reproduce any portion of the Service’s database, listings, or compiled information on any other platform or service.
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any technical measures we use to protect our data (including rate limiting, CAPTCHAs, or IP-based access controls).

The database of flight school information compiled on flightschools.fyi, including structured data about schools, programs, pricing, fleet, staff credentials, quality scores, and rankings, represents substantial proprietary investment in research, curation, and technology. This compiled database is the intellectual property of flightschools.fyi and is protected accordingly.

Violations of this prohibition will result in:

• Immediate and permanent termination of your account (if applicable), without notice or refund of any fees.
• Potential legal action, including claims for damages, injunctive relief, and attorneys’ fees, under applicable law including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, state computer crime statutes, and applicable intellectual property law.

We actively monitor for unauthorized automated access and reserve all rights to pursue remedies for violations.

4b. Other Prohibited Conduct

In addition to the scraping prohibition above, you also agree not to:

• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with a flight school.
• Post false, misleading, or defamatory information about any flight school.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or any other user’s account.
• Use the Service to send unsolicited commercial messages (spam) to flight schools or other users.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable federal, state, or local laws or regulations.

5. Flight School Profiles

Flight schools may claim their profile on flightschools.fyi to manage and update their listing. By claiming a profile and submitting information, a flight school representative acknowledges and agrees to the following:

• The information submitted is accurate, current, and complete to the best of their knowledge.
• They are authorized to represent the flight school and submit information on its behalf.
• flightschools.fyi may display, edit for formatting, or supplement submitted information with publicly available data.

Unclaimed profiles: flightschools.fyi reserves the right to create, display, and maintain profiles for flight schools that have not claimed their listing, using publicly available data. Listing a school in our directory does not imply endorsement, and the absence of a claimed profile does not indicate any negative status.

Flight schools that wish to dispute information displayed about them should contact us at legal@flightschools.fyi and we will work in good faith to resolve accurate concerns.

6. Data Accuracy and Informational Purpose

We work hard to ensure the information in our directory is accurate and up to date. However, flight school programs, pricing, fleet, staffing, and certification status can change. flightschools.fyi makes no guarantees as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information displayed on the Service.

All information on flightschools.fyi is provided for informational purposes only. Nothing on this site constitutes financial, legal, regulatory, or professional advice of any kind. Pricing data, cost estimates, quality scores, and rankings are illustrative and should not be relied upon as the basis for any financial decision or commitment.

We strongly encourage users to verify all material information (including pricing, availability, certification, and program details) directly with a flight school before making any decisions or commitments.

We are not responsible for decisions made based on information displayed on flightschools.fyi.

7. Intellectual Property

The content on flightschools.fyi, including but not limited to the website design, text, graphics, logos, quality scoring methodology, ranking algorithms, and the compiled database of flight school information, is owned by or licensed to flightschools.fyi and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose (i.e., searching for flight schools) only. This license does not include the right to:

• Download, copy, or redistribute the database or any substantial portion of it.
• Commercially exploit any content from the Service without our prior written consent.
• Create derivative works based on the compiled data.

Any use of our trademarks, data, or other intellectual property without express written permission is prohibited.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FLIGHTSCHOOLS.FYI EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FLIGHTSCHOOLS.FYI AND ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless flightschools.fyi and its operators, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:

• Your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
• Any information you submit, including flight school profile claims or corrections.
• Your violation of any third-party rights.
• Any unauthorized scraping or data extraction you conduct in violation of Section 4a.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York for the resolution of any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users (for example, via email or an in-app notice). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
