The Yellowstone Flying Club was founded in 1997 and has been in continuous operation as an equity club ever since. We currently have a 1968 Piper Cherokee 180 (N6627J). The engine was replaced in April of 2026 with a zero-time Lycoming O-360 factory rebuilt. The aircraft has approximately 5650 total hours and a modern panel with the following avionics: Aspen 1000 PDF & 500 MDF, S-Tec 30 autopilot, Garmin 650 GTN navigator, Garmin 255A NAV/COM, Garmin GTX 345 ADS-B In/Out, Garmin GMA audio panel, and a JPI 830 EDM. The aircraft is IFR certified. The equity buy in is $3,000 with each member having an equal share. Monthly dues are $130 and the hourly “wet rate” is $160. Monthly dues cover fixed costs including hangar rental, insurance, registration, and a portion of the annual inspection. We also have several approved flight instructors allowing our members to further their flying skills and goals. Our mission is to provide YFC members with a safe and capable flying experience at a reasonable cost.
