Inspection Authorization
An IA is an additional authorization that experienced A&P mechanics can hold, allowing them to perform the annual inspection every aircraft needs to stay airworthy.
If the school's mechanics hold both A&P and IA, annual inspections stay on site. No downtime ferrying planes to another shop, which keeps the fleet flying and your training moving.
