AGI

An Advanced Ground Instructor is certificated by the FAA to provide ground training for any pilot certificate or rating, with the exception of the instrument rating. Ground instruction covers subjects like aerodynamics, regulations, weather, navigation, and systems — everything a student needs to pass the FAA knowledge test and prepare for the oral portion of a checkride.

Many CFIs also hold an AGI certificate, which allows them to formally log and sign off ground instruction hours. If a school lists an instructor with an AGI, it means that instructor is authorized to provide comprehensive ground training and endorse students for knowledge tests across most certificate levels.
