The Cape Fear Flying Club was founded in September 2013 and is based at Modern Aviation FBO at Wilmington International Airport (ILM). Modern Aviation is a full-service, state of the art FBO with over 10 acres of ramp space. The club currently has 1 Diamond DA20, 2 Diamond DA40s (one with A/C) and 3 Cessna 172s. Three of our aircraft are hangared and two are tied down on the ramp at Modern Aviation. We currently have just over 80 members. The mission of the Cape Fear Flying Club is to provide a venue for members to actively participate and share their collective passion for aviation and flight by: - Providing members with safe, modern, technically advanced, and well maintained aircraft to fly. - Providing opportunities to advance members' knowledge, safety and piloting skills. - Providing the camaraderie and sharing of experience with fellow members. - Encouraging club members to participate actively to ensure the long term strength of the club. - Encouraging club membership interaction with the general aviation community.
